During this year’s Science Fiction Research Association conference held at the University of California, Riverside (June 28-July 1), Prof. Paweł Frelik (Maria Curie-Sklodowska University, Lublin, Poland) received the Thomas D. Clareson Award, which recognizes outstanding service activities – promotion of SF teaching and study, editing, reviewing, editorial writing, publishing, organizing meetings, mentoring, and leadership in SF/fantasy organizations. Prof. Frelik is the first recipient of the award from outside the United States, Canada, and Great Britain.
